"Not only is this a great idea, but is beneficial for not only the moderator, but also the guest speaker. The audience can hear differing (or similar) views on well-known subjects, e.g., candlesticks, entries, exits, and timing. Many stock specialists already employ reciprocal arrangements with other professionals. If the guest speaker's words ring true with one or more in the audience, the speaker may gain one or more additional "followers"...

Bottom Line: Reciprocal agreements with other stock specialists afford the 'followers' potentially new and exciting methods of trading and investing that they might have never have considered or (possibly) even heard of before. This creates a "Win-Win" situation for all involved parties" - Kenneth S.

Reply from Ken: Thanks, Kenneth -- agree with your points, I like what you said about if a guest speaker's words ring true, the speaker gains additional followers... by working to cross promote these with others in the industry (who are actually good to learn from) it can provide a good win-win platform for everyone.

"Many times presentations may take an hour or longer. Of that hour, it seems, that only 15-30 minutes is practical. This way, hopefully all the "fluff" and unnecessary repetition gets left out." - Phillip P.

Reply from Ken: Right, Phillip, you make an excellent point; by compressing the timeframe to a shorter 30 minutes, by necessity the presenters will need to FOCUS on what's most important and hopefully kill the fluff or repetition. Smart idea, thanks!

At least no more than 3-5 minutes only at the end of their webinar, with virtually no selling allowed... mostly for solid content, from top educators only. "I like that only respected trading industry professionals will be invited and look forward to hearing from some of the best in the business." - Stephen C.

Reply from Ken: Right, Stephen. It seems that there's 2 groups of trading educators out there -- the rare genuine pros, and then "everyone else"... a lot of people selling trading education who aren't experts. The challenge is sorting through the bs to find the best.. and that's what I'll work hard at doing throughout the year ahead, is bring the genuine "top shelf" authentic pros here for all of you. You folks deserve it. Resources that are trustworthy. Not the "pitch-a-thon" crowd of usual hawkers we're tired of.

October 21st, 2013 6:00PM

"learning trade concepts straight from the real traders mouth." - Grant S.

October 21st, 2013 4:57PM

" I like the idea. Sorry, no speaker to recommend at this time, but do have a suggestion. You need to prescreen the presentations to eliminate overlap of trading techniques. Each presenter should be able to clearly articulate unique techniques (3 for example) from their particular area of expertise, like you do in your own training. We need clearly defined take aways....ie. three or 4 bullet points that we can actually remember. If they are not unique they are a waste of our time and your time. PS. Thanks for the weekly Saturday morning webinars, they are unique in the industry and will certainly build your business over time." - Bob C.

Reply from Ken: Outstanding idea, Bob, let's do that. I'll develop a "standards" or guideline for presenters to use, such as: a) every presenter needs to have at least one slide with 3-4 bullet points AND a clearly defined "how to trade this pattern/technique" so it's clear and makes sense. A+ idea, many thanks.

Other traders, do you have any similar ideas for "Speaker Guidelines" like Bob's? Let's hear 'em. You guys are great - thanks for sharing your ideas here.

That way they'll be be there for everyone. Thanks for asking! And by the way I think it's positive that you volunteer; everyone should do that a bit, in my opinion. "I've attended similar webinars. Unfortunately many of the presenters were pitching themselves and their products. I hope this will be different." - Stan D.

Reply from Ken: I agree 100%, Stan. It's a matter of balance -- my vision for these is to make them better than what everyone's been subjected to this past year, those "pitchfest webinars" are bs. Now the presenters need some incentive to be there, so that's why I'm saying it's ok to offer something just during the last 5 minutes, The focus is on training and actually helping traders... see you there!

October 17th, 2013 5:33PM

"Someone that trades similar to the way you teach traders, price action based, I think that would compliment the way you teach and not contrast students and confuse us. An active trader either swing or day. I don't know any active traders or instructors that are good. I trust your judgement, since you have a much better insight into the trading industry.

I agree with your comments reguarding the "pitch fests". Anything that a professional can teach, especially the little details in trading is of particular interest. Thanks and I look forward to learning more.." - Lenny C

Reply from Ken: Good point, Lenny -- price action trading is where it's at. You make a good point about bringing on people with complementary vs conflicting trading strategies; for example I like candles not bars, so I'd prefer those who also use candlestick charts, as taught by Steve Nison. Agree re no pitchfests, I'm trying to set the bar higher for the trading industry with these, so they're authentic.

"Ken, this is a great idea. While I always value learning from you, I like to hear what else is out there in terms of trading education and I trust you to select quality speakers, because everything you do is quality oriented." - Doug T.

Reply from Ken: I appreciate that, thanks Doug. I guess it's my background in quality management and statistics in industry.. I'm a numbers guy who focuses on quality outcomes. I'll look for the best people out there to work with, so we've got a high-value lineup of presenters that everyone looks forward to learning from, focused on quality and step-by-step simple "how to" training that can work well for traders.
